We are pleased to announce the coming of our Bubu Awards v.07 competition. Bubu Awards started as the first and the most prestigious web design competition in Indonesia since 2001. In 2009 we successfully held the 6th iteration of Bubu Awards, titled “The Rise of the Digital Era”. Continuing the success, and foreseeing the golden era of digital industry in Indonesia, we expand the upcoming Bubu Awards to not only a web design competition, but also a digital competition to accelerate the growing of the Internet and mobile marketing landscape in Indonesia even faster.

For the past few years we have seen the rise of talents in the local digital industry scene. This positive momentum was also marked by some significant investments to local companies by global names including Yahoo and Groupon.

Bubu Awards are committed to always show appreciation to exceptional talents that have contributed significantly to the growth of digital industry in Indonesia.

As part of the commitment, Bubu Awards are proud to announce this year’s subcategories under Web Awards category: Product/Consumer, E-Commerce, News/Entertainment, Corporate, Social Media, Game, Utility, Education, Government, and Culture & Tourism.

Now more than ever, brand marketers are ready to increase the marketing budget to be allocated in digital media. For this, we would like to invite Brands, Companies, Agencies, and Developers to participate in Digital Campaign Award by submitting their digital campaign that successfully integrate digital as part of their overall communication strategy.

This year Bubu Awards v.07 also present some new categories for Mobile App Award and Digital Talents Awards. Mobile App Award will showcase the best use of application that significantly contribute to the value and effectiveness of mobile devices. While Digital Talent Awards identify key individuals who exceptionally make differences and contribute to a broader mass to adopt digital in businesses, communities and daily routines. We are looking for nominations for Digital Business Leader, Digital Community Leader and Digital Influencer.

Continuing the Bubu Awards tradition, this year we are excited to announce some prominent names in digital world as our judges, namely Alec Ross (Senior Advisor for Innovation to Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton), Craig Newmark (Founder of Craiglist.com), Johan Svanstrom (VP & Managing Director of Hotels.com Asia Pacific), Julian Persaud (Managing Director of Google South East Asia) and Rohit Dadwal (Managing Director of Mobile Marketing Association Asia Pacific Limited).

From Indonesia, many influential leaders in digital industry have joined our panel of judges, including Andrew Darwis (Founder of Kaskus), Andy Zain (Founder of Mobile Monday Indonesia), Erik Meijer (Deputy President Director of Bakrie Telecom) and Hasnul Suhaimi (President Director of XL Axiata). In order to maintain the credibility and independency of the Awards, we have confirmed Ernst & Young Indonesia as the official tabulator.
